How to Start a Career in Digital Marketing from scratch?
Building a successful career in digital marketing requires a strong foundation, a willingness to learn, and a strategic approach, regardless of your previous professional experience or whether you are a new graduate. In this post, we'll look at key actions, approaches, and tools that will assist you in taking the first, most important steps towards a successful career in digital marketing. STEP 1: Understand The Basics
Before moving forward, you need to know the basics of Digital Marketing. You must have answers to the following questions:

- What is the Eligibility criteria to become a Digital Marketer?
STEP 2: Choose a Niche
After you know the Basics, you need to select a career theme/Niche from various niches of Digital Marketing. You can select a niche according to your interests. Do a little research on every shortlisted topic and make yourself comfortable with basics. Here are some listed below:

- Graphic Designing: Creating high-quality images, videos for promotion on social media or website content.
- Blogging: Creating a blog and writing articles/contents on it.
- Freelancing: Choosing a niche and working with clients independently for their promotions and helping them achieve their business goals.
- Others: Affiliate marketing and Influencer Marketing are two other fields in Digital marketing.
STEP 3: Enroll in a Course
Once you have chosen your Niche, you need to learn every single detail and have hands on practice on the same. For this, you need to have an experienced tutor. Find a relevent course on platforms like Udemy, Coursera, Scaler, Skill Share, Byjus, Unacademy, Internshala etc. and get yourself enrolled. You need to have 2-3 legitimate certificates from known brands mentioned before. This will make your Resume stronger.

After you have learnt the advance level of the chosen topic, you need to build a proper resume to attract the recruiters.

STEP 5: Prepare a Cover Letter
A cover letter is something which helps engage the employers even before your Resume. Hence, you need to prepare your cover letter in a short and crisp manner. Here is a sample cover letter attached for your reference but do not copy paste it as it is. Try to be more creative.

STEP 6: Create a profile on LinkedIn
- Your professional visibility can be greatly improved, and you can increase your chances of getting better job possibilities by developing an engaging LinkedIn profile.
- Create a compelling headline that showcases your qualifications and goals. Write a succinct, compelling narrative that highlights your abilities, experiences, and career objectives while using a professional photograph.
- In the part on your job experience, be sure to draw attention to your accomplishments, projects, and successes.
- Make connections with coworkers, classmates, mentors, and businesspeople in your sector. By networking, you can reach a wider audience and discover career opportunities that may not be publicly posted.
STEP 7: Apply for Jobs
Finally, apply for jobs on various online platforms like Naukri, Hirect, Internshala etc. As per my experience, Internshala is one of the best platform to find a suitable job. You will need the cover letter while applying, hence, optimize your cover letter well and try to personalize it. STEP 8: Make sure to update your Resume and Continously Upskill Yourself
Once you land a job or Internship, do not stop there, keep upskilling yourself by enrolling in new courses and keep adding your skills, courses, and experiences in your Resume.
